After you finish the rehearsing and signal testing, you can switch the event to the “Live” status and go live to your audience.
This article details instructions on how to manage your live event from the control room:

- Finish your live event to stop the livestream
Start your live event
1. Before starting your live event, please refer to Preview a Live Event to learn how to enter the “Preview” status for your live event..
- Note: Your live event is still required to go through the following statuses: “Wait for Preview” > “Initiating” > “Preview”, before it can be started regardless of whether or not you plan to preview your event.
2. In the control room, you will find the "Go Live" button on the upper right corner of the control room page. Click "Go Live" when you are ready to broadcast your live event.

Note: The “Go Live” button will only appear when the status of the live event is “Preview”.
Please refer to the previous steps if you are unsure on how to bring your live event to the “Preview” status.
3. A notification that reads "Go live successfully!" will appear, and the event status displayed on the control room will change to “Live” immediately. The status displayed on the livestream list will change as well.
4. Your event is now live, say hi to your audience!

If you have enabled the interaction features for the event, such as a poll or chatroom, you can also manage them in the control room while live.

Finish your live event
When your livestream is coming to a close, you can follow the steps below to conclude your livestream. If Live-to-VOD is enabled, you may also publish the archived VOD for the event.
For Live-only events (“Live-to-VOD” disabled)
5. Press the “End Livestream” button in the control room to end your livestream.

Note: The “End Livestream” button will only appear when the event status is “Live”.

6. A notification that reads "End live successfully!" will appear. The event status in the control room and livestream List will also change to “End” immediately.
7. The livestream will stop and no longer be viewable to your audience. You can archive the event to close the streaming server if you do not plan on reusing the live event.
For Live-to-VOD enabled events
5. Press the “End Livestream” button on the control room to end your livestream.

Note: The “End Livestream” button will only available when event status is “Live”.
Please refer to the previous steps if you are unsure on how to bring your live event to the “Live” status.
6. A notification that reads "End Live successfully!" will appear. The event status will change to “Encoding” immediately.
- Note: The time it takes for the VOD to encode will take at least twice as long as the live event’s duration. For example, an hour-long live event will take roughly 2 hours to record as a VOD.
- For more information about the “Live-to-VOD” feature, please refer to Utilize a Live Event as a VOD.
7. After the encoding is complete, your VOD will automatically be published between the scheduled start time and end time. The event status will show as “VOD”.
- If the encoding completes before the scheduled start time, the event status will display as “VOD ready” until the scheduled start time. The VOD will also be available for preview in the control room.
8. The event status in the control room and livestream list will change to “End” automatically after the scheduled end time. You can then archive the event to close the stream server if you do not plan on reusing the live event.
Noted: The ended events will still be counted into the usages of “Concurrent Livestream”. please remember to archive events that will no longer be used.
